Douglas Charles Ross
The son of John Herbert Ross, J.P., and Ethel May Ross. He reached the rank of Sergeant in 247 (China British) Squadron RAF Volunteer Reserve. On the 11th June 1941 whilst flying a night patrol in Hurricane W9260 from RAF Portreath he descended below cloud in poor visibility and crashed into the Channel. He was just 20 years old.
