Walter George Prosser

The Son of Walter and Alice Edith Prosser, of Leominster. He held the rank of Sergeant Wireless Operator Air Gunner and was posted to North Africa with 3 Ferry Training Unit, (3FTU). Their purpose was to train pilots, normally on active duty, to fly their aircraft over long distances. He was killed On the 25 September 1943 whilst on a flight with Wellington Mk XII MP637 which flew into high ground while in cloud near Saka, Morocco.

He was 21 years old

He is buried alongside his crew mates A.E. Carter, W.G. Prosser, R. Whiting, and A.G.W. Wright in Le Petit Lac Cemetery situated on the south-eastern outskirts of Oran in Algeria.

His headstone carries a personal inscription:

"SLEEP ON, DEAR WALTER. AS LONG AS LIFE AND MEMORY LAST WE WILL REMEMBER THEE"
